Another round of OOOs marathoning, woo-hoo! I actually do need to hurry through these too, cause on top of doing this before AZ, I'm supposed to be working on a spur-of-the-moment cosplay. Oh well, gonna be caught up with this soon enough at this rate.
Episode 11 - A moth Yummy this time...loved Eiji's "Flying should be against the rules!" comment, lol. Also, more of Hina keeping Ankh in line, and denying him his beloved popcicles XD Also, another case of "That setting looks familiar!", they've used that stage before (I remember it best from Kiva). Also, I take back what I said about Gotou not being so bad, he's starting to be a pain in the ass.
Episode 12 - I love how easily Eiji manages to annoy Ankh. Also, looks like Eiji's the only one able to turn into OOOs, even if someone else got the belt. I was wondering about that. That's good. Also, LMAO! OOO's reaction to the new candroids...he catches them, then tosses them away cause he think's they're snakes (poor things wind up flopping around on the ground ^^; )...they're eels though. Electric eels. They make electric chains, which is pretty cool. The Uva and Gamul show up, and OOO steals three Core Medals from the latter. New Combo time! And...is Ankh actually praising Eiji? Well, at the very least, he's probably impressed. Eiji's been able to handle all the Combos so far, even though Ankh always worries about him using them. At the end it shows Maki and Kazari are working together, that can't be good.
Episode 13 - The episode opening for this has scenes from the Double/OOOs crossover movie, and this is one of the things that annoys me about watching Kamen Rider as it releases, cause it's gonna be ages before we see the movies, and it creates some awkward story gaps sometimes. Anyways, I love watching them annoy Ankh, I really do. Although, I think Chiyoko overdid it this time, cause he seriously looked like he was about to kill someone ^^; He won't do anything though, cause he likes having a place to stay...he just hates everyone there. I really do kinda feel bad for him. I mean, for one of the series kaijin, he's been doing pretty damn well all things considered. Even Eiji mentions he did well putting up with it...doesn't make him feel any better though. The fact that most of his Core Medals are missing bug him too.
Also hey! It's theGashapon Birth belt thing. Yeah, I supposed it is about time for the series secondary to show up. It'll be soon. I know he premieres in the cross-over movie, so it'll be in the episodes after that. The metals Ankh gives Eiji has the Kuwagata metal for the head, usually it's Taka, Eiji comments on that ^^; He uses the ability, it uses electricity to fry the low-ranking Yummy, but Eiji fries himself in the process too...because Ankh didn't want him using a combo *sighs* ^^;
And NOW, also, you learn the name of the detective Ankh possessed (though I already wiki'd it), so yeah, it's Shingo.
Also, more plans involving Ankh being very much not amused :P He's also scaring small children with the "If Eiji screws this up, I'm gonna kill him" face. No surprise that when Eiji doesn't kill the Yummy because it jumps back into it's host, Ankh gets pissed and takes off. This also leaves Shingo on his own, which is not good (but at least he's already at the hospital).
Episode 14 - So yeah, Ankh's taken off, so he needs to find him before Shingo dies, and then there's also a Yummy on the loose. He's got his hands full. Speaking of hands (bad pun, I know), watching Ankh try and fend for himself in his arm form is always amusing...because he fails so miserably at it. He can barely fend off a barking Corgie ^^; Not to mention the Yummy, which nearly gets him, but Eiji shows up. Ankh then heads back to Shingo, so he's alright for now. During the battle, Eiji loses two of the Yellow Core Medals to Kazari. Ankh isn't too happy about this. He spends some time smacking Eiji a bit ^^; It's good that he's back though.
Episode 15 - So lots of Medals get stolen this episode. Kazari steals most or all of Mezool's, since he's pretty much backstabbing all of them. The other Greeed are also after a ton of cell Medals. There's a ton of Medals getting switched around too, during the battle. It's hard to keep track. Anyways, I love how Eiji's now using popcicles to bargain with Ankh ^^; He really does love those things. This is also the first time I think Hina's ever thanked Ankh for anything, and Ankh's like "huh?". The Medal count at the end shows that OOOs lost a good chunk. Just the TaToBa and LaToraTah combos, and that's it.
Episode 16 - So much crap going on...oh, and it's a Christmas episode too, apparently. You know, I keep forgetting Eiji only recognizes certain Greed in their human forms. He doesn't recognize Mezool at all, and is too busy to notice Gamul. Speaking of which, those two meet, and it looks like Mezool absorbs Gamul and a ton of Cell Medals, and transforms into a giant monster. Something Eiji's gonna have a tough time beating on his own...but, oh, wait. Hey, It's Kamen Rider Birth. Yeah, about time he shows up. Doesn't do much though, manages to knock a few Core Medals loose, and OOOs has enough for the GataKiriBa combo to finish it off. Then it's a mad three-way dash between the Greeed for Medals. Ankh only manages to get two. Also, I'm guessing now Mezool and Gamul are dead.
Eiji asks Ankh why he's collecting Medals, and says it's because he wants a stronger, complete body. Provided there isn't more to that, I could understand it, given he's kinda just an arm at the moment.
At the end, Kamen RiderGashapon Birth introduces himself to Eiji and Ankh.
Episode 17 - Wow...just...was not expecting Date to be like that. It's funny, he's got an instruction manual for his Rider system XD
Later on, Hina gives Eiji a small gift, and even tries giving one to Ankh...but he's pre-occupied and brushes her off...awww. She was trying to be nice too. (Oh, and it's New Years. I'm glad at least it's relatively easy keepig track of the general dates in this show...). Eiji comments that there haven't been any Yummy lately, and tells Ankh not to make any just to get Medals, to which he replies that he'd have already done so if he could ^^; Well, at least that confirms one thing I've been wondering (he probably can't cause he's just an arm).
Eiji's gift from Hina is a scarf...a red scarf...appropriate :P Ankh finds his present later on, Hina left it in his room. It's a Medal case. Ankh actually smiles a bit. It's cute. He likes it ^-^ Plus, it's probably a more convienient place for them.
As always, the secondary Rider gets his moment to beat-down the monsters and make OOOs look sucky, but we know that won't last long. Date pretty much just collects Cell Medals as a job, and doesn't really care about them other than he gets paid for it. Him and Ankh are not going to get along well. I'm reserving judgement on if I like him or not for a little while longer.
Episode 18 - Wow, I love when Eiji has his surprisingly sneaky moments. Also, you find out Birth focuses on just collecting the Cell Medals. I'm also thinking there's some stuff I'm missing that happened in the movie, but I'll just have to deal with that. Anyways, for the first time we get to see OOO use one of Mezool's Medals, Unagi. Birth ends up doing some over-kill cannon shot. While he's collecting Medals from the Yummy, Ankh tries to steal some from his big can XD...and Eiji's just like "*sigh*", since now he'll have to deal with Date and Ankh competing over them.
Episode 19 - Wait now Gotou works at the restaurant too? o.O
Also, Oh HELL yes, they're foreshadowing the TaJaDol combo too... Ankh has the two Taka, Kazari has the Kujaku, and Kougami gives Eiji the Condor (WHY do they spell it Condol though? Japan, this goes without saying, but you failed English right there). Count the Medals, indeed. XD
Well, Eiji decides to return the Medal to Kougami, in fear that if it restores his body, he'd abandom Shingo, who would die. Interesting... Anyways, since Gotou is working at the restaurant too, he has to put up with Ankh...that's gotta suck. It's also still funny how it still throws Eiji off when Ankh starts him off with something that isn't the usual TaToBa combo ^^; In the end, Kazari steals back most of his Core Medals, ROFLPWNS both OOO and Birth, and things don't look to good
Episode 20 - I knew it! Ankh didn't put the Core Medals in the case, so at least Kazari can't get his final one. Although he does tell Kazari that Eiji's the only one who knows where the last Core Medal is, chucks him off the building into the river, and steals his Kujaku Medal from Kazari while he's distracted. Oh, and he's the one who actually has the last Yellow Core Medal...and he's laughing about it, lol, Ankh, you sneaky bastard.
Also, I guess Date really is a pretty decent guy, when competing for Medals isn't involved. He's pretty nice to Gotou. Now, Eiji and Ankh have a REALLY weird relationship, and it really shows in this episode...but it also shows that they at least count on each other to show up to defeat a Yummy, even if they're doing it for different reasons. Also...I know what combo's coming up, and OMG, I am excited to see it... Hina shows up with the Kujaku Medal, and the one chick shows up with the Condor Medal (and Ankh's pissed Eiji kept it from him, but Hina says to think of what he did as paypack for what Ankh did earlier...he can't argue with that ^^;). So, Medals are tossed, and Eiji's got Ankh's Combo, it's GO TIME!
TAJADOL! HELL YEAH! So badass looking, OMG! And the theme song, the theme song's a duet between Eiji and Ankh, and sounds awesome. It reminds me of "Double-Action" from Den-O in a way too, since he's fighting with Ankh's Medals. Also, you get a hint at what Ankh's full form would look like here...and unfortunately I've already seen it from later episodes, it doesn't look nearly as epic as they're leading on ^^; Unfortunately for Ankh, Bird-type Kaijin are rarely very well designed. *sighs*. His colors are at least pretty, I'll give him that. But yeah, Ankh is in a different situation from the other Greeed.
So yeah, I am loving this series so far. Plus, my favorite combo has finally showed up (well, barring possibly the dinosaur one, but I haven't gotten that far yet). Anyways, hoping I can catch up on the rest of these tomorrow.
