You know...I don't post about my tokusatsu shows here like I used to...and it's a pity, cause this seasons shows are great so far! Kamen Rider Ghost is hitting it's second big plot milestone (as it tends to do every ten or so episodes). It's been getting harder and harder to wait for subs, lol. It's the first Kamen Rider series I've really liked in a while. The cast are all great too, following everyone's Twitter's been a trip (even if I can only really appreciate the silly pics, and Nishime Shun is a cinnamon roll). Meanwhile, Zyuohger is only at ep. 5 but has been a fun romp right out the gate! It actually got me watching Sentai again for the first time in years! Actually, the cast for that is fun to follow on their Twitter/blogs too.

I should probably update my toku icon...it's still Kamen Rider OOO, LOL! Granted, Tajadol form is still probably one of the prettiest Rider forms ever (those peacock feathers!). Still, aybe I'll update the red bird motif to ZyuoEagle instead :P I actually really like Yamato. He's more like the team mom than the team leader, lol, he's great.

yeah I have to agree, waiting for Ghost's subs are really nerve-wracking ugh. T_T
is Zyuohger good? I haven't watched Sentai's shows for awhile now. x_x

Zyuohger's been pretty good so far, but it's written by the guy who wrote Go-Onger and Kamen Rider Wizard, so I'm being cautious. Still, the concept of an animal sentai being actual animals (except for Red) is pretty fun. Plus, the girls have had pretty strong writing so far, and I really like them, which is rare (though again, being cautiously optimistic cause there's no guarantee things won't turn to shit later). At any rate, I'm watching it for now since it gives me something to look forward to while I wait for Ghost.

uwa, animal sentai... did someone portray as a tiger there or something? Ghost is still airing am I right? (I only see the subs until 20+, so maybe they'll release most of the subbed episode together I guess?)

Zyuohger has a tiger, yeah! Her name is Amu, and her color is white (they used white instead of pink this season)! We also have a female blue (a shark!), green is an elephant, and yellow is a lion. Red is a human, but his ranger form motif is an eagle, with a gorilla power-up that just debuted in ep. 5 (which we've known since the show started was gonna happen anyways).

Also, yes, Ghost is still airing! Most Kamen Rider series nowadays run to around 48 episodes. Episode 22 JUST got subbed by Over-Time (who also subs Zyuohger), so go check that out! Serious shit's going down, and next episode's going to be crazy!

I've heard Zyuoger ep. 7 and Ghost ep. 24 are going to be cross-over episodes between the two series, but I think only ZyuoEagle will cameo in Ghost (which sucks cause I wanted the whole group). We'll see.

Oh, yeah I am! My first series was Kamen Rider Kiva (it's my second-favorite too), and I've watched Kuuga (third favorite), Agito (Favorite), Ryuki (though I hated it), part of Faiz (also hated, dropped it. Movie was alright though)., Den-O, W, OOO (I cosplayed Eiji!), rage-quit after OOO's ending and because Fourze looked stupid, tried gettng back into it with Drive which kinda failed, but I am loving Ghost so far. It's the last chance I'm giving Kamen Rider though. So far it's been breaking a lot of tropes I hate, so there's promise.

I'm less into Sentai. I've only watched Gekiranger and Shinkenger to completion (loved both), and got about 3/4ths through Goseiger, and just kinda lost interest til Zyuohger popped up. I'm being cautiously optimistic about it.

I have toys from various series too. I own the toy belts from Kiva, W, OOO, and Ghost. I also have several SHFiguarts, mostly from Agito, but I also have Emperor Form Kiva, ShinkenGold, and GokaiSilver (who I bought just because he looked cool).

But yeah, now that I'm watching two toku in tandem again, I'll try and post here and there about it. I tend to overlook my LJ because of FB and Tumblr (especially Tumblr) ^^; That, and I'll need SOMETHING to post about when KAT-TUN goes on hiatus, I suppose.

Either Kiva or OOO are my top favourite so far but Drive was hella close.
W and Den-O were great.
I skipped decade.
Fourze I didn't wanna watch it at all, I had no interest but as a Toku fan I had to watch it, so I waited and marathoned it all at once and ended up being better than I expected. It was decent but definitely not up there. It's good if you're a D-Boys fan like me and support westerners and halfs getting roles. And tbh Fukushi Sota IS cringe worthy in Fourze but TBH he's not done anything decent since cos he's constantly cast as the 'good looking handsome guy' since Fourze.
What else... Wizard was fairly good too!
I think I'm missing one...
I really wanna watch the older ones like Kuuga and Kabuto, Agito - Oh! I've still not watched Gaim! - but I need to finish TQger first before moving onto another complete Toku series.

HOW DID DRIVE?!!?! Was it Chase? Was it cos of Chase? Cos Chase broke EVERYONEs heart. But least he's coming back in his own movie right!

I've not seen Gekiranger.
Shinkenger... unfortunately I didn't like it. I liked all the actors and their characters but the story itself I remember not liking.

Goseiger was great but Gokaiger knocked it RIGHT out. Gokaiger is defo my fav. After that it's Go-Busters cos DAMN that punches you in the feels and it's pretty dark! I've currently watching ToQger and it's got some DARK parts too which I wasn't expecting cos it's concept is TRAINS! xD the bad guy in ToQger (and GoBusters) are hilarious but also a little crazy xD
Zyuoger is definitely holding up so far especially on a concept and story level, even though I don't actually like any of the actors/characters bar Eagle and his old man xD

I don't own any Tokusatsu stuff =[ I really still want OOOs, Kiva and W stuff though.

This was the second version I did...the first one was literally a closet cosplay because my friend was like "I'm cosplaying Ankh and I need an Eiji!". The second version was me putting in actual effort (that wig still hated me though. Would not stay styled for ANYTHING). My friend cosplayed the secondary from Fourze that year though, but let me borrow her Ankh arm as a prop at least.

Drive...I kinda hated it from the get-go...not a big fan of police-themed shows...but got in halfway and stayed for Chase after seeing enough screenshots on Tumblr...and then they killed him off in a shitty way for a shitty reason, and I rage-quit. It got me back into Kamen Rider long enough to give Ghost a chance though. I'm still really worried they're gonna do the same thing to Alain though. They need to stop killing off tertiary Riders! The older series weren't nearly as bad about that (and when a tertiary Rider DID die, it was usually an asshole who deserved it).

I'm actually not a huge fan of the darker sentai...or Rider shows for that matter. I don't need feels...RL does that to me enough nowadays, so I usually stick to the fluffier series. I know the ending for Gobusters, so I'm not even going near that one, despite it being good. You'd probably like Gekiranger. Starts out cute and fluffy and goes to hell by the end and it WILL punch you in the feels (I'm glad I watched it ages ago when I had a higher tolerance for that kind of thing). Plus, if you like D-boys, Suzuki Hiroki plays Jan/GekiRed (and he is ADORABLE in it), and Hirofumi Araki, plays the villain! Highly recommend it if you like those two.

I'd like to finish Goseiger and watch Gokaiger someday.

Far as Zyuohger goes, I'm surprised you don't like the characters. A lot of people have been praising it on how much fun they all are, and how the girls actually have decent characterization this time. Yamato's been popular as a Red too, since he's unlike the last few we've apparently gotten. I'm still neutral on the old dude and the Eagle, especially the latter since we don't know anything about him really.

I do have a Tumblr...it's HikariKirameku. Was pretty sure we shared info a while ago, but I could be wrong ^^; Still, the chat there is really fun if you ever get the chance. I am ALWAYS up for chatting about toku, especially now that my idol fandoms are getting kind of depressing right now. It's a happy coincidence that I get to return to this fandom when the others go to hell.

Yeah.... I think everyone hates them for what they did to Chase... and for what they did to Kiriko too. I have to say: Tomari was my least favourite thing in Drive xD

Fluffier Tokusatsu.... I got nothing sorry. I'm a sucker for the darker shows. Hence why I'm so into GARO as well xD Fourze is pretty fluffy though! And Zyoujyuuger (I think it's called. The dinosaur one!)
But KIVA is pretty dark though right?
Yeah I still need to work through the other D-Boys Tokus....

The characters are great but lets ALL be honest, I watch Tokusatsu for the story AND MAINLY for the fact the actors tend to be hot and/or cute haha And no one is really cute/hot in Zyuoger so I ain't interested in the actors/characters xD
If I had to think about it: I like Tiger and Elephant in Zyuohger but Lion and Shark I know annoy me a little. Especially Shark's constant resting bitch face >.<
Naoki/Yamato is the hottie of the group but he's just too young for me (even though he looks a lot older than he is xD)
The old uncle/dude is great though! I love him <3
But yes they've definitely already been given great character development. But the story/theme is definitely the main holder for me right now rather than the characters/actors.

Kiva was dark-ish, but not really compared to a lot of other toku. It's got nothing on, say, Ryuki. Faiz I've heard gets darker too, had I stuck with it. At least in Kiva you know from ep. 1 which characters in the '86 storyline were gonna die, and that was kind of depressing in a way, but they did it in a way that you really didn't feel bad about it in the end, since the main focus is the 2008 storyline anyways. And I like that it's basically the only series that ends with the monster group not only NOT getting killed off, but actually starting to work to get along with humans. In a neo-heisei series, they'd have probably killed off Taiga and all the Fangire, just because.

I'd like to say I stopped getting into toku for the eye-candy, but there was Chase >.>; Well, his character story type really appealed to me too (I'm a sucker for redemption stories if they do them well). Still, I have to enjoy the eye-candy with moderation nowadays. I am WAY too old for pretty much any of the main characters anymore. I'll be 30 soon. Hell, Shun/Takeru in Ghost is so young (Only 17 when he started, now 18), I kinda fawn over him more like you would a puppy, "Awww...look, he's doing cute things, isn't that precious?" lol. I have the same issue with following Hey Say Jump, I can only safely fangirl over about half the group, lol.

Yeah Shun/Takeru is a cutie <3 too young for me too xD but he's definitely a cutie that I wanna hug and adopt as my son haha so he still counts as me watching toku for the actors looks xD

Only half the group? The youngest ones are nearly 23! That's not that young... right? But I guess when you think about when you were 20 they were like 12/13 it does make it concerning... but Yamada gots those muscles going on! xD

My friends would jokingly refer to HSJ as 'Hey Say Jailbait', lol. Plus, I was still super happy with just KAT-TUN back then too. I only got into them because a friend of mine is obsessed and they'd finally gotten old enough where it's not SUPER creepy, so I gave it a go. They aren't bad, but they have just as many songs I like as songs I don't, so they could never replace KAT-TUN or NEWS for me.

I'm starting to get to the stage where I HAVE to check how old they are before I can allow myself to start thinking uninnocent things. So many actors I like now are younger than me! So I have to be careful every time now ='[
I haven't listen to HSJ properly in about... 4 years =/ I should get back up to date with them.
